ABSPD Module One Completed!

Well, ignore the title...the truth is I haven't completed Module One of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. Module One has finished, and I still have much to do to complete all the exercises to my satisfaction. I have to do some freelance fabric design over the break between modules, so it looks like I may not have time to catch up. But with two little people, a job, two blogs, and all the other challenges life presents to a person, I've come to the conclusion that you can only do what you can do. I'll have to work through it whenever life allows (so here's hoping my little man will decide to start sleeping in the daytime one day soon!) Anyway, here are a few patterns that I created during Module One:

Thanks a Bunch! by gobennygo

I've called the collection Thanks a Bunch! as it came from a motif that originated as a bunch of flowers:

I am strongly influenced by vintage design, and I am drawn to florals and strong repeats. I intend to experiment with textures and mark-making techniques when I get time, and I absolutely can't wait to see how my individual style will evolve over the course. I can definitely recommend the Ecourse - it is certainly an inspiring and exciting journey. I'll be posting more of my designs from Module One soon. Til then, it's back to work for me! See you!
